Career Highlights (this is a continuing story!)

  • Gained early admission to post-graduate training at The Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy Trauma Studies Program; completed 2 year certification in Integrated Trauma Treatment. Returned to ICP to teach and co-direct the Training Committee;

  • Developed and staffed the Safe Horizon Brooklyn Community Program Sexual Assault Treatment Program, expanding community access to counseling and advocacy related to sexual assault;

  • Headed the Victim Intervention Program at NYP Weill Cornell, growing the SAFE program and tripling program staff and service outreach;

  • Directed the SAFETI program at the NYC Alliance Against Sexual Assault, which trained 300+ medical professionals per year, preparing them to expertly and compassionately assist patients in hospital Emergency Departments across New York;

  • Developed the Alliance for Advocacy, a Direct Service program that provided free counseling and advocacy services to survivors of sexual violence;

  • Worked with Survivors NYC (now ViV) on the creation of their first magazine, which highlighted survivors of sexual violence. Even got to flex my modeling skills;

  • Catalyzed a New York State investigation of hospitals illegally billing survivors for forensic evidence kits

    • NYI - press conference and announcement of investigation

    • Vice Media - discussed gaps in the system, particularly Rape Crisis programs in Brooklyn

    • Marie Claire profile of the survivors at the center of the story

  • Alongside Odyssey Impact, created a media and discussion guide for The Rape of Recy Taylor;

  • Consulted with Safe Horizon, ensuring that survivors and staff have optimal resources related to the Child Victims Act;

  • Currently consulting with Joyful Heart Foundation, Sanctuary for Families, NYLAG, CASA-NYC, & More…

  • Admitted as an Expert Witness at the Manhattan DA’s Office, providing testimony related to Sexual Violence, Intimate Partner Violence, and Trauma
